Time for Everything, Walking a Tightrope

time

It has been a significant amount of time since my last post and it is now time that I find the time to get back on this wagon. The only problem? ….time!

Over the past few months, the one thing that I continuously do not have enough of, is time. (I’m not whining, I promise)

Time …I Need More of It!

Here on the Farmstead, we have had so many things going on that even I (President of the Gettin’ Stuff Done Club)  have not been able to figure out how to get it all done. I’ll give you a bit of an overview right now, but there will be many more details to come.

We had been running along rather smoothly, regardless of how busy we had all been all along. Our experimental garden flourished when all of our friends’ gardens had been washed away due to abnormal flooding in our area–harvesting and canning ensued.

Our animals were growing and we were expanding appropriately and our furniture and décor orders were keeping us very busy as well. Our family was trucking along as per normal; homeschooling breakthroughs, field trips, holiday celebrations and so much more…just like everyone else. Until….

Set Backs…

In January, my daughter, Paxton, woke up at 5:30 am to get ready for her day, when she noticed flames out back. When we woke to banging on our door, she alerted us to the horrible news that our barn and workshop were on fire. This is the same barn on which we had just recently replaced the roof that a freak windstorm took off…but I digress. My next post will go into detail about this awful event, but for now, suffice it to say that our lives suddenly became much busier and much more stressful.

Since that time, we have worked night and day, literally, to put everything back together while at the same time trying to find some way to control everything else in life that (get this) would not stop happening!

I mean, seriously, everything else just kept on going…even though we were in the middle of a disaster here…the nerve! Something had to give and sadly it ended up being my writing…I didn’t want to, but my family thinks they have to eat every day or something….gotta be a mom….

Nothing has actually slowed down yet, everything has just been reorganized a little and I have learned some pretty nifty tightrope walking skills. In fact, if we keep this up for much longer, I may be qualified to join the circus. Come to think of it, that might be a nice break…

Until next time,

God bless.

Next post…. Details on the fire and the aftermath
