Growing Conditions:
Nettle prefers rich, moist soil and partial shade but will tolerate full sun with adequate moisture. Plant in spring or fall from root cuttings or seeds, spacing plants about 12-18 inches apart. It can spread aggressively, so consider containing it.
Caring for Nettle:
Keep the soil consistently moist, especially in dry periods. Wear gloves when handling to avoid stings. Cut plants back periodically to encourage fresh growth and prevent flowering if harvesting regularly.

Harvest the top 4-6 inches of young nettle shoots in early spring or whenever new growth appears. Use gloves and scissors. Dry or cook nettle to neutralize its sting.

Nettle Nourishing Tea Recipe:
Ingredients:
- 1 tablespoon dried nettle leaves (or 2 tablespoons fresh)
- 1 teaspoon dried peppermint or lemon balm (optional)
- 1 cup boiling water
Instructions:
- Steep nettle (and optional herbs) in boiling water for 10-15 minutes.
- Strain and enjoy warm or over ice.
Drink daily for a nutrient-rich herbal tonic.
Culinary Uses:
Blanch or cook nettles to remove the sting and use like spinach in soups, pastas, omelets, and pesto. Dried nettle can be added to herbal salt blends or sprinkled into smoothies.
